BYK production sites worldwide

With around 6,300 square meters, Chester is a small location one hour west from New York City.

The Earth City site, located outside of St. Louis (MO) serves as the plastic business line’s center of excellence for North America.  

The Gonzales (TX) site is BYK’s largest production facility with a footprint of over 134,000 square meters. Established in the early 1950s, the facility became a part of the BYK family in 2013.

The BYK Louisville Site sits on 9400 square meters just outside of downtown Louisville (KY). Currently, there are 32 employees that work in various departments in support of the production and distribution of the RHEOBYK product line

The Wallingford site has gone through many changes over the years and is still growing and changing. 

In Denekamp, we develop wax and plastic additives and manufacture them on site at our plant. Our products are used in the paint and coatings industry, in printing inks, in the automotive industry and in various other sectors. For example, they optimize the surface and provide, among other things, a gloss or matting effect.

In Deventer, we develop wax and plastic additives and manufacture them on site at our plant. In Nijverdal, we develop wax and plastic additives. The masterbatches obtained from plastic granules are used in the automotive industry, for example. Think of the dashboard, vehicle interior and bumpers, which are nowadays made of high-performance plastics.

Congratulations to our BYK colleagues at the Denekamp, Deventer and Nijverdal sites: They were able to renew their EcoVadis certification and thus continue to carry the gold label! EcoVadis certification is now a fixed element on our path toward sustainability. In addition to BYK Netherlands BV, BYK Germany, BYK USA and BYK Great Britain also have gold status.

At around 79,000 square meters (excluding ALTANA), the location in Wesel is one of the largest of BYK. In 1962, the foundation stone for a highly successful company was laid here.

The Kempen location, with its production facilities, has been part of BYK-Chemie GmbH since 2008. A sister company of BYK also previously produced here.

Our state-of-the-art logistics center is located in Emmelsum, on the banks of the Wesel-Datteln Canal. From here, we send our additives all over the world.

Thick and sluggish or thin and dynamic? These properties come to light in paints and coatings and also in building material products such as plasters and adhesives. At first, the difference is hard to see. However, when these products are used - for example, when painting or plastering walls - the different characters of flowable substances are very evident.

Packaging and toys, roof rails and window profiles, housings for electrical appliances, and components for the automotive industry – the market for thermoplastics is almost inexhaustible. With its products, at the Schkopau location (near Halle/Leipzig) BYK-Chemie specializes in thermoplastics and the manufacture of high-performance modifiers for plastics

BYK-Gardner is not a specialty chemicals production site but rather a manufacturer of highly sensitive, innovative electrical engineering. BYK-Gardner develops, produces, and distributes instruments and system solutions for measuring the color, appearance, and physical surface properties from Geretsried in Bavaria. This test equipment systematically measures what the human eye perceives – the devices thus become “objective eyes” in the truest sense.
