With around 6,300 square meters, Chester is a small location one hour west from New York City. It first started as Chemical Corp of America (Chemcor), which was founded in East Rutherford (NJ) in 1952, and moved to Chester (NY) in 1994.

Chemcor was acquired in 2012 by ALTANA and became part of the BYK family. Currently, 15 people work in production, warehousing, maintenance, laboratory, and administration. Wax emulsions, resins, surfactants, and zinc ammonium carbonate cross-linkers are mainly produced here in day shifts and shipped to the world from the company’s own distribution center in North Haven. BYK in Chester has been ISO 9001:2015 certified since 2019.
