BYK Additives starts 2024 with a significant investment at the Deventer site in the Netherlands. On January 11, 2024, BYK Netherlands B.V. celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new factory in Deventer, the Netherlands. The new production facility will manufacture solvent based wax dispersions and replace the current facility with a state-of-the-art process installation which will meet current as well as future demands from our customers – of course also in line with current and future regulatory demands. BYK is investing a double-digit million euro amount in the plant.

Investigations into the cause of the fire in Kempen are ongoing - securing of the accident site and cleanup work are making good progress

At the 10th BYK OPEN Charity Golf Tournament with 116 participants and prominent support from TV chef Björn Freitag, 4,000 euros in donations were collected - this time the entire sum will be donated to the Weseler Tafel.

Over the past twelve years, the BYK OPEN tournaments have raised a total of around 40,000 euros in donations and donated them to dedicated clubs and organizations in the Wesel area.

You will be able to see it from afar: Starting in August, a large construction crane with a hook height of 46 meters will stand on our production site in Wesel (Abelstraße) for around three months.

Last week, the new thin film evaporator (DSV) was moved to its new destination at our site in Wesel. This sounds unspectacular, but it is a further step towards sustainable production.

In order to provide our apprentices with the best possible digital support in their mobile work, we have recently started using graphics tablets in our laboratories. This makes remote in-house lessons even better, as it is now possible for all participants to draw chemical formulas and reaction chains graphically via Microsoft TEAMS. In this way, we contribute to the increased protection of our apprentices and our employees from Corona! A win-win for everyone!"
