Around 70 neighbors, as well as personalities from local politics, came to Kempen to hear us explain our investment plans for the site and take a look behind the scenes. BYK is planning to build a new raw material tank farm and a tank truck unloading station in Kempen to the latest standards and is investing around 20 million euros in the project.
The new buildings will ensure the safe supply of raw materials to the mixing containers. The investment will also improve occupational safety in the area of tank truck processing and increase throughput times with a modern unloading platform.
The new tank farm is to be built in accordance with the current standards of the Building Energy Act and equipped with heat pumps for environmentally friendly heating. The project is being intensively examined and monitored by the authorities. This includes not only documents and expert opinions on the construction, but also on fire protection, plant safety, noise protection and environmental protection. The preparatory construction work is scheduled to begin this year; commissioning is planned for the end of 2026.
The feedback from our guests was positive. Both neighbors and politicians are pleased with BYK's commitment to the Kempen site.
